We have an adaptec 2940w pci scsi controller installed in a pentium 90
machine. The system uses a genuine AMI motherboard, and has one 4gig Seagate
drive, 1 tape drive, and 2 cdrom drives. The system will always crash if a
cdrom is in use and "disconnect" is enabled on the 2940. The error given is
something like "no free SCB, can't reconnect device 15". If disconnect is
disabled, then there is no problem, except net bandwidth on the scsi bus drops
greatly. It looks like the driver code is not handling device disconnects on
the scsi bus in the right way. Anyone else have this problem, or know of a
fix?

Darren.
