On the call:
Kristi Browder, Odell Fearn, Clyde Poole, Joel Richon, Barb Nicholson, Mark
Yanow, Michelle Popejoy, Rochelle Lauer, Jeff Killeen, Joe Pollizzi, Terry
Shannon
Wally Cole on vacation, Rebecca Parsons and Tony Ioele unavailable
General communications issues:
BoD Email list broken since last night, have to reply all (individual
addresses) to BoD mailings vice listserver
How should these concalls be used? It was agreed at the last face-to-face
meeting that concalls should emphasize motions/votes rather than general
discussion which can be dealt with via email.
Item 1: CATS
Barb sent out CATS update to BoD last night, but it did't get through. Barb
took action to send messages to LUG list, ping an individual or two. Have
been a few sign-ups to CAT list. Still understaffed, all CATs can take
additional members. OS CAT still needs Tru64, Linux, and Netware coverage.
Still must do an analysis of where gaps in coverage exists and staff
accordingly. Barb will send an updated list of staffing to the entire BoD.
We're still looking for "mongo computing" and ebusiness CAT captains.
Item 2: Trade Show Proposal
Brief discussion of outstanding issues from last symposium.
Clyde Poole discussed proposal that he emailed last week. Clyde impressed
with firm currently being evaluated. Firm seems to understand Compaq,
political issues, etc.
Item 3: Joe Pollizzi sent (Feb 20) revised wording of professional services
proposal for search for association management firm. Added background on
Chapter, etc.
By the time of the next face to face meeting (March 18-19 in New Orleans,
LA) the BoD should have a real good idea of what it wants from an
association management firm (vice Joe's expectations). This should be a
major agenda item for New Orleans meeting.
Miscellaneous
ODell reminded BoD that we need a path forward for LA2K event name. Business
Strategy Committee briefly discussed. Concall ended 1955 EST.
