yep.

when I started reading/posting Usenet (over a decade ago), there was
lots of activity in lots of groups.

most have since become filled with little more than occasional bits of
spam and/or other automated messages (leading to looking far and wide
over a much larger range of groups for any interesting/relevant topics).

so where is OO discussed now? Fora? Blogs? Facebook? Twitter? Seems like a step backward. Most forums have user interfaces designed by morons (and I speak as someone who posts to usernet via google).

Discussing OOP through messages which are capped at 140 characters? That
would be a challenge.

That site isn't suited to host discussions, as it is designed to host quick
and dirty Q&A, essentially limited to a single Q without follow through and
multiple A.

It also doesn't help that it sucks at what it is designed to do, too.
