freeserve broadband and a sparkcon AR41/2C modem router, help please.

First hello.
My problem stems from my not speaking computer and therefore not
really understanding what it wants or, more accurately, what I am
doing.
I have the above modem router linking my 2 PC's and as such it works
fine, however, I haven't dared configure it to connect to the web for
fear of it connecting to something it shouldn't. Can anyone talk me
through the process of setting up the modem side please?
There seems to be more settings available in the setup program than
Freeserve publish information about. A phone call to Freeserve came up
with comments like "I dont know about that, sorry."
I can post, or try to post, the screen captures of the setup pages if
that will be of help, there are 11 or so pages.
