Audio conversion from MP3 to CD

I have been trying to convert MP3s to CD format so I can burn them on CDs.
The problem I'm having is that when I put the MP3s in a folder, they are
somehow converted from Winamp files to VB script files. The conversion
software does not recognize VB script files. Why is this happening and how
do I resolve this?
