I am running Windows 2000. Some...but not all... of my shortcuts are
behaving strangely. When I go to the RUN command and execute a shorcut
that is in my WinNT folder....many of them work. For example, if I have a
shortcut called MSWORD, I go the RUN command and type MSWORD and it works.
However, MANY OF THE SHORTCUTS DON'T WORK. For example, I have a shortcut
called TIMEFOLDER. When I go to RUN and hit TIMEFOLDER, IT BRINGS UP A DOS
WINDOW FOR 1 SECOND....BUT DOESN'T WORK. However, if I double-click on that
shortcut it will properly go to the right folder. In addition, if I go into
DOS and type CMD and then type TIMEFOLDER....it will properly pull up that
folder. WHY WON'T many of these shortcuts continue to work with the RUN
COMMAND.

My PATH statement does include C:\WINNT and many of the shortcuts in the
WinNT folder do work properly.

It appears to be a problem with DOS...maybe with Win2000.

The ONLY changes I have made to my computer are:
()I issued the uncompress command on the FAT32 C Driver by mistake

Any help would be appreciated. I am lost.

Do those programs which have "traditional" 8x3 names (for eample, WORD.EXE
opposed to TIMEFOLDER.EXE) work properly?
