I am building a bootable CD-ROM running under MS-DOS 7.0. The purpose of
this CD is to restore computers, but also to have a nice environment for
DOS-users.
For this CD-ROM I am looking for an internet browser and some other network
utilities like telnet.
I have found a lot of them, using wattcp.cfg but I am also using
NDIS-drivers from Microsoft so it can communicate with NT-servers and so on.
Is it possible to have networking software like a browser and telnet, and if
it is possible, where can I get it?
Thanks.
For the browser, have you looked into Lynx? It's a great text-based browser,
very useful for older computers, and it's ported to Windows, MS-DOS and
UNIX/Linux as well. This link is for the MS-DOS version of it:

For the telnet part, I found something called "NCSA Telnet TCP/IP Package":
http://www.simtel.net/pub/msdos/ncsatlnt/
Check the documentation and download the binaries ("binaries" is the actual
finished software, compiled from the source code).
Both these utilities are both freeware and open source (you can download the
source code and make changes if you want to).

Thanks for the response, both of the applications, Lynx and the NCSA
TCP/package uses WATTCP and I am using NDIS, so I can also connect to a
M$-LAN and using shares.
I know about packet drivers, but those two, NDIS- and Packet-driver cannot
work together.
You could also use the browser Arachne.
You can download it from: home.arachne.cz
