win2k setup dies - illegal page fault

Hi,

I've got Win98 on one partition, and Linux 6.2 on another. I'm trying to
upgrade the one partition from win98 to win2k.

While it's going through the first part of the process, generating the
'upgrade report', it crashes with the message:

winnt32 caused an illegal operation in kernel32.dll: illegal page fault

this is when it's trying to read or update system files I think.

I thought maybe the CD was bad, so I exchanged it for another, same
thing happens.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround?
