When version 3 of the procreate app came out, I was eager to try
it out right away, but it turned out to be somewhat of a
disappointment, since it seemed to introduce a significant drop
in performance on my somewhat outdated ipad mini 2 (using the
WICS2 stylus). Most likely because the app is optimized for
the new ipad pro and apple pencil stylus.

Fortunately, I figured out that the alternative 25pp appstore
I'm using offers a convenient option to downgrade to previous
versions of apps that are stored locally:

So now I'm back in procreate 2.3.1 and it is working great again
like it used to.

Surely such a convenient downgrade option is not available
to the unfortunate users of the itunes appstore is it?

I've googled a bit to explore whether people using itunes also
have a way to downgrade apps (apps they have actually bought or
downloaded from the official appstore), but I guess it's likely
apple is doing their best to take this freedom away from users,
as they typically like to lock down everything.

Ok, so a guide like this should still be applicable?

Right, just like they supposedly don't try to prevent you from
downgrading to earlier ios versions.

I back up all of my apps, and can restore any version that has ever been
installed. Apple prevents nothing of the sort. The only people claiming
such nonsense are the ignorant or inept.

I still have the old version of Shazzam before they crippled it, got
pwned by Soundhound, and then sort of un-crippled it. I even installed it
on an old iPod to see if it still worked (didn't appear to, I never got
a response from Shazam servers).

Once again I teeter at the precipice of the generation gap.

Indeed. All my apps right back to the dawn of my iOS usage, are backed
up. I can reinstall any of them at any point by just dragging the .iap
file onto iTunes (after deleting the newer version from my desktop and
iOS device).

Also - what's this 25pp store? Sounds like dodgy as hell piracy to me.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Soooo... he's a pirate who still pays for his piracy? I'm not sure he
comprehends the concept of piracy.

The 25pp appstore is free, as well as most apps.
Though they don't have all apps that are in the
official itunes appstore, they usually get updated with
just a day delay compared to the official updates.

I remember when I used to jailbreak my ipad there was
more choice of apps on various torrent sites, but usually
those apps were not fully up to date and keeping ios up
to date can also be more of a hassle when the ipad is
jailbroken (but easy when using the 25pp app store).

The people who should be ashamed are the copyright nazis
who perpetuate the intellectual property myth.

Yeah... cause people shouldn't be paid for their work if they want to be
*disgusted eye roll*

The fact is rather than actually use truly free software if that's your
thing, you instead steal the work of others. Your hypocrisy in this
matter says all we need to know about your character.

Information belongs to the public domain and people who claim otherwise
are criminals who belong in jail. But I guess these days corporations
think that scamming people is one of the core principles of capitalism
and the only real issue they worry about is how to get away with
scamming the general public.

Really? Gosh, in that case may I please have your real name, age,
address, occupation, and employer? Unless you're a crominal with that
information and won't share? :-)

His real name is Niek Sprakel.
He revealed that when he posted some images, including self portraits
in the photo NGs.

Note the ironic posting on the wall of a swastika by the individual who
labels folks as nazis.

Well, it seemed unlikely, but maybe he mows his mum's lawns for money to
buy the technology he then bitches about and uses to thieve with.
