FYI...
If you know what you're doing - at about the same price you pay today
o You can connect a mobile device to your Wi-Fi even if it's far away!
Here's a shot showing my desktop connects to Wi-Fi from 6 miles away

And, for my mobile devices, this setup allows Wi-Fi hundreds of feet away:

If you ever need to connect your mobile device to your home WiFi many
hundreds of feet away from your house... (e.g., at the pool, at the
driveway gate, at the barn, the shed, the parking area, the corral, the
kids' tree fort, whatever - even to the far reaches of the deepest corners
of your house)...

Then this thread has what you need to set that up at your own home
o All for about the price of you pay now for routers & repeaters

Note on simplicity and on universal applicability:
o One end of this setup is typical Wi-Fi (802.11 b, g, n, & ac stuff)
o The other end is typical Ethernet that you use every day (RJ45 & Cat5).
The equipment is as small as a single inexpensive $50 router board:

But this equipment is NOT going to be found in a typical consumer store
o Yet, you can easily buy it online - so all you need to know is how
