I would like to copy public-domain song lyrics from websites, paste
each lyric onto a separate page, prop up my iPad in front of me when I
perform on the guitar, and leaf through the pages of lyrics to the song
I want.

The Notes app would work if I were willing to type in all lyrics, but I
would rather not do that.

I see that I can copy lyrics from websites and then paste them into the
"Lyrics" section of songs that I have in iTunes. Is there a way to go
from there to having a notebook or pad of song lyrics on my iPad?

Thanks
Don

there are a *lot* of notes app alternatives, some of which can sync to
the cloud or sync files via itunes. there may even be an app designed
for what you want to do.

And then there's the minimalist approach I use. Since I had a lot of my
music-- some sheet music, some just lyrics-- in .jpg files anyway, I just
scanned the rest and made them into photo albums 8-). I have 8 music
"albums" in Photos on my iPad.

Minimalist is what I seek. I have opened a Dropbox account (2GB free),
have put all my lyrics sheets (individual Word docs) into the Dropbox
on my iMac, and they are thereby available in the Dropbox on my iPad,
sorted alphabetically. I have ordered a special music stand to hold the
iPad (I considered the less expensive stand that clips to the mic stand
but decided on the special stand) and will see how this rig works out.
Thanks for help.

I don't have an iPad that links to a phone company and often need my music
where there's no wi-fi available, so Dropbox wouldn't work for my purposes,
but Photo does. I have some strange ”albums” there 8-)

Nor do I have an iPad that links to a phone company. But a Dropbox user
can label any and all documents as "Favorites" and they are thereby
loaded onto the iPad and can be called up anywhere. I have not actually
tried this, but that's the way I read the documentation.

I believe, however, that there's an additional fee if you load too much.
Another thought : Have you thought of(or can you) saving them in .pdf form
and moving them into iBooks? I also have a wild variety of .pdf files in
there, and you can put them in "collections" there, too. One of mine is
full of thongs for an upcoming trip to Germany, from brochures, train
schedules, hotel reservation confitmations, maps, to even local bus
schedules!

I believe the first 2GB on Dropbox are free. Since I am putting only
text files in my Dropbox, I do not think I am in danger of loading too
much anytime soon. Will keep the iBooks idea in mind for other
purposes. Thx.
