Is there any way to set the default Win10 to copy Android DCIM to Merge & Skip by default?

Is there a way to set the default checkbox and/or skip action when copying?
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=9111942dcim_01.jpg>

While there are a billion ways to copy directories from Android ot Windows
one task I do periodically is copy all the latest photos from Android to
Windows while the phone is charging over the USB connection.

What I do is hilariously simple, which is I use the Windows "copy GUI":
1. I right-click COPY Android DCIM from the Android sccard "mount"
2.I right-click PASTE it to Windows 10

Of course, there's this required obligatory checkbox step in between:
...Calculating the time required to copy the files...
...This destination already contains a folder named DCIM.
... If any files have the same names,
... you will be asked if you want to replace those files.
... Do you still wan to merge this folder?
... Do his for all current items
... Skip

While I _know_ there are other ways to copy folders over USB,
is there _any_ easy way to just tell Windows to
a. Always check that checkbox
b. Always hit the "Skip" button

Is setting that default even possible using the copy GUI of Windows 10?

Hi Bob S.,
Thank you for that nice cite, titled:
o How to Check or Uncheck Do For All Dialog Checkbox by Default in Windows 10
<https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/103425-check-uncheck-do-all-dialog-checkbox-default-windows-10-a.html>

o It doesn't seem to work for me on Windows 10 1809.
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=4157398dcim_05.jpg>

I don't yet know why not.
o Does it work for anyone else on Windows 10 on this newsgroup?

If it matters, I'm on Android Nougat 7 (but I doubt it matters):
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=3810697dcim_06.jpg>

1. I 1st opened the registry to this key and changed the value from 0, to 1:
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\OperationStatusManager]
ConfirmationCheckBoxDoForAll
CHANGE FROM DWORD: 0 = Uncheck
CHANGE TO DWORD: 1 = Check

2. I connected the phone & opened the SD card & right-clicked DCIM copy.
Calculating the time required to copy the files.
(This takes a few minutes where I go about my business elsewhere.)

3. Then the "Confirm Folder Replace" popped up, but it was NOT checked:
[_]Do this for all current items [Yes] [Skip] [Cancel]
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=9217914dcim_02.jpg>

Hmmmmmm....

4. I downloaded & doubleclicked on the REG file they provided at:
<https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/177647d1518996001-check-uncheck-do-all-dialog-checkbox-default-windows-10-a-do_this_for_all_current_items_checked_by_default.reg>
Which is named "Do_this_for_all_current_items_checked_by_default.reg"
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1158434dcim_03.jpg>

5. I snapped a photo & tried again but it _still_ failed.

I'll try rebooting after I send this, where I only ask others to confirm
with a quick right-click copy of a well-populated folder and then paste
into a location that already has an older copy of that folder.

Unfortunately for me, rebooting didn't change anything.
o When I copy a well-populated DCIM directory from Android to Windows
o It _always_ asks the same question which I simply want to always skip

Can anyone get this registry key to simply automatically check the boxes?
<http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=8798021dcim_07.jpg>

All I want to do is merge the two folders with the newer files from Android
(it's _always_ going to be the _same_ task every single time I do it).

Here's how to test:
1. Snap a photo (so that your DCIM is _newer_ on Android than on Windows)
2. Connect the Android device as an MTP device over USB to Windows.
3. Navigate to the Android SDcard containing the DCIM folder
4. Rightclick copy this newly updated Android DCIM folder
5. Rightclick paste in a Windows directory containing an older DCIM copy

If is just works without asking any questions, then you're set up like
I'm trying to set it up for simplicity & efficiency.

Not strictly an answer to your question, but for that repetitive
operation, I'd just put the appropriate copy command in a .bat file
and run that as needed.
