Hi,

I have an old HTC Desire, running (I think) 2.2

I need a way of getting a lot of SMS messages off it onto a file on my
PC. If they can be CSV all the better.

Is there any good tools out there that can do this. Googling returns
many that look extremely dodgy.

Thanks,

I use SMS Backup & Restore Pro

<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestorePro>

There's a non-pro version and he also has a similar Phonecall History
exporter too.

I certainly rain it on my old Nexus1 that's similar vintage to your
phone, hopefully the current version still runs on older versions of
android ...

Should have mentioned, the file format it uses is XML based.

Thanks for the replies, I took a plunge and bought this:

http://veryandroid.com/android-sms-and-mms-backup-for-mac.html

It worked well and exported it all out in a manner that I was happy with.
