In a recent thread on <http://tinyurl.com/rec.photo.digital> about the huge
loss of privacy that uploading your friends and neighbor's and children and
grandchildren's contact information to the cloud
(aka "Someone Else's Computer")...

It was asked _how_ we can easily _not_ upload contacts to the cloud
o And yet, still sync our contacts among our own devices on our own LAN

Step 1 is a contact app that understands standard non-proprietary formats.
Step 2 is a contact optimizer/organizer/synchronizer that keeps it clean.

Step 1:
This thread is only to ask what contact app you use to import/export
(via any non-proprietary format such VCard, CSV, etc.).

For step 2... there are so many optimize solutions, it's not funny.

Some solutions simply clean up the contacts themselves.
o Other solutions sync them to desktop Excel or Outlook progs.
