I bought a Vegolink data-only eSIM <
https://vegolink.com/> since they
offer data for 0.5¢ per MB in the U.S., on AT&T. The data does not
expire. It’s on a phone with a Red Pocket/Target/AT&T free plan. At
$5/GB it’s no great bargain, but for only occasional data use it is
acceptable.
Getting the Vegolink eSIM running took an online chat with Vegolink
support and they were very good about fixing the provisioning. Not sure
where their tech support is located but they are headquartered in Germany.
This would also be a good eSIM for people in the U.S. whose primary
service has coverage issues, such as some T-Mobile MVNOs that don't have
off-network roaming.
There’s another similar company called Keepgo but their per GB rate is
much higher and you have to add more money every year.
