For Android, the ringtones are merely files which you can find and copy to
anywhere you like using the freeware ES File Explorer on any unrooted or
rooted device.
For example, I just clicked with ES File Explorer on
/mnt/sdcard0/notifications/Pinger.mp3 and it played a quick ringtone.
Clicking on /mnt/sdcard0/Ringtones/
sideline_ringtone.mp played a longer
ringtone (like the type that comes out of a music box).
You can also just hit the ES File Explorer search button for MP3 and it
should find a few. I don't know if ringtones use other extensions, but they
might, so, search for them also.
I can't help you on iOS because Apple hides far more stuff from you than
does Android - so let us know what you find out.
