hate to burst your bubble but you are sol. You can pull the main board
out of the case far enough to follow the key control trace lines on the
board to the memory controller and look for jumpers in those paths. It
is also common to find jumpers for memory ect. far away from their
components because of board design.
The major thing that may fix your problem may reside in your cmos. Old
versons have limitations for memory, HDD size ect. Get a new chipset for
your CMOS if you cannot find a memory jumper. Does the memory show up on
your setup or at boot? Is the memory you put in a mix of pariety or non
pariety? I lost eight megs because of a pariety problem.. it showed up
but was not used in any operations.
