{207.81.168.10}
Attempting SMTP connection to [207.81.168.10 : 25]
Waiting for socket connection...
Socket connection established
Waiting for protocol initiation...
30 second wait for protocol timeout exceeded.
Advice the other site to increase timout above 75s (e.g. 120s).
When sendmail accepts new connection you may encounter
two delays:
* reverse DNS query delay (mapping client's IP to DNS name)
the most typical delay is up to 75s
* ident query delay
default delay in older sendmail version is 30s in newer versions it is 5s
How long do they wait for your sendmail greeting message when they telnet
your smtp host ?
telnet mailhost.your.domain 25
