I use several DNSBL's and RBL's on my Sendmail MX record and I have run in
to a problem that seems to be a infinite loop.
I am trying to add:
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `dnsbl.sorbs.net', `"554 Rejected " $&{client_addr} " found
in dnsbl.sorbs.net"') dnl but when I start Sendmail I get:
Failed to start sendmail :
Starting sendmail: 554 5.0.0 /etc/sendmail.cf: line 82: unknown
configuration line "
The only way I get to restart Sendmail is by deleting the feature so in
effect I can't add the dnsbl.sorbs.net in to the sendmail.cf file.
What I would like to add is that I'm not too clued with command lines and to
over come this I use Webmin.
What's noticable here though is that I have never had any problems in
addding DNSBL's previous to today.
Does anyone have any insight as to what I may be doing wrong?
TIA,
Dave.

What's on line 82 of /etc/sendmail.cf?

Hi,
No text at all, either before or after adding the entry.
Dave.

Is there a stray space somewhere?
Sendmail does not like blank lines, although empty lines are fine.
Take out the space before 'dnl' on the FEATURE line. Or take out the
'dnl' altogether, making sure the right paren is the last thing on the
line, so you won't be tempted to put a space there again.:-)

That's fixed it. Many thanks.
Dave.
