Two of these (ca 17:55) I just sent to try to see what the deal is. It only
seems to happen with addresses @yale.edu; all other mail moves through
nicely. Some yale.edu mail moves as well, though it tends to stick for a
while before going.
What do the *'s mean after the message ID? All the messages in the queue
without starts got dumped when I tried sendmail -q. These four won't go.
I read the sendmail man page and didn't come up with anything useful.

* means there is a sendmail process trying to deliver the message.
The job could be delayed for many reasons; network sluggishness,
DNS timeouts, a slow server at Yale or something else.
