Error opening or locking INBOX

Hi,

I'm having some problems with my POP server, sometimes users can't download
their messages, the logs just tell me that there was an error opening or
locking the INBOX. I found out that the problem was fixed by deleting the
user's INBOX in /var/spool/mail but I can't delete inboxes due to then
we'll lose email.
1- Why does this happen?
2- How can I fix it?

This is what I see in the logs

Not a sendmail problem. Try to update your ipop3d daemon. I bet you
still using redhat 6.0

Also ask Marc Bautil to increase the timeout when retrieving
messages.. that might help for the moment.
