I'd like to bring up sendmail on Snow Leopard - anyone have any experience with
this?

On Saturday 19 December 2009 22:06, dp (denn...@inetnw.com) opined:

Evidently not. Certainly not me, tho' I do run FreeBSD, which I believe is
the basis for OS-Whatever.

Have you checked the sendmail web-site for build and installation
instructions for your machine/os? There should also be something there
about system requirements, both hardware and software.

What does Apple have to say, if anything?

I found a good resource here:
http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Comp/comp.mail.sendmail/2005-07/msg00083.html

It built fine though I did have to adjust the SASL major/minor values in the
example m4 code. Left to do is to work out the install without getting under the
jackboot of the OS X update tool.

I wish now that Venema had been a bit more clever in Postfix about wedging in
sendmail compatibility. It would save some work (for me :) ) if he'd done it
without re-using the sendmail exec name in his suite.

Launchd isn't any big deal - not much different than Sun's service management
facility.
