Hi all
Im learning Sendmail by reading the O'reilly book.
Im up to chapter 11 (loads to go:)) , only trouble thus far is that I can't
work out the answer to one of the "Things to try questions"
Here it is.
9.5 - Is it possible to have text in the LHS that is literally $+, rather
than an operator with the same characters?

If so, I'd be grateful to know how.
Thanks in advance.

I bet it is, but in 15 years of using sendmail I have never had a reason
to do this, so I'm not going to waste any time trying to find out how. I
might venture a guess that prepending a '\' to the '$' would make it
"literal" (and the '+' doesn't have any special meaning by itself), but
it may well be wrong.

Why? Sometimes the "things to try" in books like these are far-fetched
and essentially useless, just because the author couldn't come up with
anything better... There are certainly enough *real* problems to solve
without them, just read this group for a while.:-)
