When Someone in my host send a mail to me via "Mail -v ..." command,
There comes a message ".... .forward : World writable directory".
And SENDMAIL doesn't reference my ".forward" file.

I heard that SENDMAIL doesn't reference ".forward" file that has world
writable access permission.
But my ".forward" file DOESN'T HAVE world writable access permission.
It has "r--r--r--" access code.

What's wrong with SENDMAIL.

Thanks for your time and help.

I found reason.
My system's administrator made user's parent directory have world writable
access permission.
That was the reason.
Someone told me that check my directory.
My directory didn't have a problem.
But grandparent's directory had a problem.

Thanks for all help.

You should A. Retrain or fire the administrator. B. Ensure no other
directories are world readable that shouldn't be.

Well there's a new term. Does your server have aunt and uncle directories as
well? :)

Is your home directory world writable?

I have somewhat of a similar situation but can not follow the logic to
correct it.

I am getting a message -
forward /home/"user"/.forward: Group writable directory.
the user directory's were set to 700 but when I check in the directory
the .. was group writabe. when changed to 600 the messages changed to
.forward: Permission denied.

Changing the permissions on the /home directory produced the same
results.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. :)
We do not have any forwarding being done, so even just being to
disable the message would be ok if it cannot be corrected.

Thanks in Advance.

Try 755 on all of / /home /home/"user" - 700 on /home/"user" should work
too, but if you make /home 700 or 600, "user" can't access his home
directory...

Just another "feature" of sendmail 8.9 Check
