talktalk.net inbox-path solution

Well, I may be the only person in the UK to use an old version of PC
Pine to access talktalk email (and I wonder how many tens of thousands
of users they have!) Pine worked fine with the old tiscali account,
but started failing login when I switched to the talktalk server.

Before the connection is refused, you may notice an error message
like: "Server bug: non-empty initial PLAIN challenge" - and therein
likes the clue ...

So in pinerc you need something like:
inbox-path={mail.talktalk.net/pop3/user=yourus...@talktalk.net}
INBOX

then search for the following and change thus:

disable-these-authenticators=PLAIN

Also make sure you have an empty pine.pwd file the first time you try
a login.
