Trying to install latest pine on a Fedora Core 6 Linux box.

What I do:
rpm -Uvh pine-4.64-1.i386.rpm

What I get:
error: Failed dependencies:
libldap.so.2 is needed by pine-4.64-1.i386

libldap appears to have been superseded by openldap; is this true?

Any knowledge experience w/ this?

Easy as pie, at least on Fedora :

yum install libldap.so.2 -- then arrow up and repeat your rpm command

But do you really want pine instead of alpine???
