1] I recommend that FM users read and participate in the
FastMail.FM forums, which are here:

<http://www.emailaddresses.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=27>

There are a lot of very helpful & nice people who participate in
these forums. Some of them even use Pine!

2] I recommend that you try out the FM webmail client. Even if
you hate webmail and only want to use Pine, it will help you get
a sense of the power of IMAP to see this "view" of your IMAP
mailboxes. Experiment with reading, replying, searching,
flagging, etc.

Also, when you are traveling and need to use someone else's
computer to access your email, FM's webmail is a very easy way to
access your email. A lot of Internet cafes do not allow ssh to a
remote system where you can run Pine so webmail is the only
option in those cases.

Let me know what you think Beartooth (and other FM users) of both
of these (the FM forum and the FM webmail).

Thanks,
Nancy

I'm on. It's using some bboard software different from any of the
several I'm familiar with, and will take some getting used to; I gave it
tab of its own on Firefox -- but I won't know right away which browser it
will eventually live on.

That I'm familiar with, and appreciate : Ddave runns squirrelmail, and I
can get into my Lserv email that way. It is indeed invaluable when you're
spending time in some backwoods place, without any connection of your own,
and the only way to get one is to go to the nearest county public library
(Carnegie or not), where the only computers are gifts of Gates ...

No webmail I can imagine could hold a candle to Pine, being necessarily
GUI afaik; but any webmail is a huge improvement on nothing at all, on
such occasions as urgent need arises.
