Elm seems to automatically sort by GMT, or equivalently by my local
time. I can display the send date in my local time by showing the
full header. Is there any way to force Pine to sort by GMT or my
local time?
Sorting by arrival is not the solution, as I often move mail between
folders or bounce mail between accounts.

I reported this as a Bug in 3.95 and was advised to upgrade to 3.96 to
check if it is still there. I haven't done this yet however..
The behavour seems to crop up with all sorts of bad timezone offsets.

Pine 3.96 does indeed improve date/time handling over 3.95 and earlier
versions. I think the last count I heard was something over 30
distinct formats that it recognizes. There are all kinds of odd
formats floating about that Pine doesn't recognize, but we do try to
support those that are fairly common. However, when guesswork is
involved we would prefer to ignore what we don't understand rather
than guess wrong. For example, BST can be Bering Standard Time or
British Summer Time, among several other definitions I have seen. If
you guess wrong on BST, you're about as far off as you can get!
