Hi,

Something I'd like to see in Pine TNG: a way to send mail, and add
attachments in batch-mode.

I.e., I have a file called "file.zip" in my current directory, and I can
do something like:

pine -a file.zip -s file-transfer mys...@somewhere.else.org

And pine automatically generates an empty mail, with file.zip as an
attachment, and sends it to the address specified. Mutt can do this
already.

Regards,

Patrick.

Then why not use mutt and kick pine?
Or is there some feature with pine
that you are missing with mutt?

But, you should already know half the ASCII character set. A-Z a-z 0-9

(couldn't resist)

mutt still doesn't do imap, right?

From the MUTT FAQ http://www.math.fu-berlin.de/~leitner/mutt/faq.html :

I'd like to get my mail via IMAP!

Mutt doesn't officially support IMAP, but there is an imap.c in the
latest Mutt distributions for the adventurous of you. If you just
want to read your mail with IMAP, I strongly suggest you use the
fetchmail program to download your mail via IMAP and then use Mutt
to read it.

BTW: The author of fetchmail, Eric Raymond, uses Mutt, too. ;)

Update! Andy Sloane put together IMAP patches for Mutt. You can
find the patches at http://fear.incarnate.net/~andude/mutt-imap/.

Hope this helps.

pico... Well, that's the reason for me using an external editor by
default... :)
