On the u. of washington alpine page there is a binary download of 1.1 for
the mac while a 2.0 for windows. Does anyone know of a binary for a mac
2.0?

Thanks.

Macports offers 2.00 and fink offers 2.11. No binaries, but MP and f
build that for you. I built (let build) my alpine on OSX 10.7.5.

Would you please post a howto in this forum?

I have build pine|alpine earlier on Linux, but I have no experience
on OSX and think the Xcode game is kind of step to crawl over.

Fink:

Download the source version und install that. Of course, you have to
have a working Xcode installation! See mentioned page.

After you’ve set up fink:

su admin
sudo fink selfupdate
sudo fink install alpine

Now, with the new Alpine 2.19.3 (alpha?) one can compile the programm
without fink. I like MacPorts but fink was not so my world.

Eduardo, thanks, Alpine compiles without problems out of the box under
Darwin/OSX 10.7.5. Great!

Kind regards,

Now I have a question. It seems Alpine even knows how to deal with
official ssl certificates? I don’t know how, but (at the moment) I
manage to connect to ssl servers in public. Has something changed? I
feel as if this did not work with 2.10 or 2.11?

Except my own, private server, not wan, but lan. With a self-signed
certificate. Now, how do I teach that to Alpine? I haven’t found
something like /etc/ssl/ where I could put myxyz.local.pem into.
