Help with fetchmail

Has anyone experience with fetchmail for use with alpine and an gmail
account? I seem to be getting a connection but it fails somewhere along
the line.

How does one tell it where to store the fetched mail? The fetchmailrc
examples I found on the web don't make this clear.

If it would help I can post the error messages.

I was using fetchmail but you can not read emails from multiple computers. Then I switched to offlineimap. It is simple to set up and is powerful.
