Outgoing address keeps being corrupted

Not sure if this is a mutt problem, but I don't know where else to look.
I've been trying to send a mail to let...@independent.co.uk, but each
time it is rejected because the address is corrupted (differently each
time). More stuff is being added. For example:

How are you composing the message, from scratch or by replying to
something they've sent?
