One disadvangage using mutt is that it doesn't cope well with mails that
have a lot of url links.

There can be 50 or more of these, and the reference numbers in the text
[nn] don't correspond with the list of urls at the bottom of the email.
There are no clues in the urls themselves to help identify them.

Do other people have trouble with this? Any solution?

I've never noticed any problem, the numbers always correspond
correctly in every case that I use them (fairly often, a few times
every day I would guess).

... my problem was trying to reply to your posting thinking it was in
the mutt mailing list and I was using mutt! :-)

Surely that's not a function of Mutt, but of the web browswer it
executes to render the HTML? Which one do you use?

I hadn't thought of that. I'm using lynx. I would not have thought that
would make a difference but I'll try something else and see what
happens.

If it's of interest (I said "it works for me" earlier), I'm using links.

And I'm using w3m ;-) I use it in pure "format this HTML as text"
mode though, so I don't get to see the actual hyperlinks. I only use
it because the Exchange server at work is misconfigured to send mail
as HTML only, with no alternative text/plain part.
