I can't get mutt to work. I have read a few posts on this exact
problem but I could not find a post with the resolution. Thank you in
advance for your help.

It can't find your terminal descriptions.
- a path for a (n)curses package might be compiled in and
the package might document that somewhere (particularly
in the compiling notes)
- The environmentvariable TERMINFO should help
(for the first try "TERMINFO=/usr/lib/terminfo export TERMINFO")
or might even already contain an invalid value.
- the syscall tracer for 11 is named 'tusc', and could report in detail
what's going on (see the "Software Porting And Archive Centre")
(i have no HPUX11, btw)

No need to try likely invalid values :)
[FUP2 comp.sys.hp.hpux, in case you still have problems,
followup with details]
