What browser do you use? Here's what I just did with Firefox. (The
same works with Google Chrome and probably with many other browsers.) I
loaded Gmail first. My browser was maximized and I couldn't see the
desktop. I clicked on the restore icon to unmaximize the window. Now I
could see the desktop. There's a lock on the address bar right at the
left of where the address of the website begins. I clicked on the lock
and dragged it to the desktop. This created a shortcut icon on the
desktop whose description begins with ``Inbox - [...]''.
Double-clicking the icon opens a my browser (or a new tab, if it is
already open) and loads Gmail. (If you are already logged in to your
account, it will open your email right away.)
See if that helps.

You're welcome.
PS. I never used Total Commander, but I think you create a shortcut
icon with the procedure above. You might not need to find your previous
files.
