The only possibility of which he is currently aware is to buy a
fast modem and dial into a commercial service in another country
such as Prodigy, MCImail, Compuserve, etc. He is not aware of any
connection to any of these without dialing out internationally,
but has very incomplete information.
Any suggestions on other options? Does anyone know if the Technical
Institute of Bandung has an outside email connection?
If you email, I will summarize results to the net. Thanks-

I'd certainly not advise any consideration of Prodigy, based on everything
which has been said about them in this group and elsewhere.
According to Quarterman in The Matrix, Indonesia has (or had at one time)
a public data network called SKDN, run by their Post, Telephone, & Telegraph.
In some countries similar PDNs offer email service connecting to commercial
services here such as Telemail.
Although not registered as a UUCP node, the Institut Teknologi Bandung may be
reachable using indogtw!itbgtw!postm...@uunet.uu.net. If not, further
information may be available from indogtw!di...@uunet.uu.net. Unfortunately,
available information seems to be at least three years old.
