Finally I found the instructions to imap & smtp gmail, with the required
ssl. It uses alpine. But I can't see how to send a set of 'postponed' mails
that I've prepared, once I go on-line. It shows only forward & reply.

The imap facility took long to d/l the gmail-dir of about 70 mails.
Now that I've gone off-line, the directory is not visible.
That's no good! [And I don't want any mails to be auto-deleted.]
Since the 90's I've only used pop.
My good-system, but which can't do ssl/gmail, used to keep the dir,
so that I could fetch & delete individual mails.
Can imap do that too?

== TIA.
