PMDF does all this stuff, and has done so for quite some time. PMDF currently
supports Microsoft Mail formats (which are NOT simple UUENCODE embeddings), Sun
formats, NeXt formats, RFC1154/RFC1505 formats, and a bunch of others. PMDF can
be configured to accept any of these in an incoming message and convert it to
MIME. PMDF can also convert MIME messages to most of these formats when sending
to a particular destination with special needs.
Each new version of PMDF that comes out inevitably adds support for even more
non-MIME formats. The latest release, for example, contains additional support
for some interesting UUENCODE variations now being produced by some Netware
gateways.

We need a filter that will run on UNIX System V release 4 on Intel hardware
(e.g. an AT&T GIS MP-RAS.) that can be connected to the existing sendmail
and Stargroup Services for Microsoft Mail to bridge the UUENCODE-MIME gap.
We need an inexpensive, short-term solution until we have native MIME this
September. Installing a new MTA is not an option.
Is there a separable piece of your PMDF product that meets this need?
Thanks,
Mark

Sorry, there isn't. PMDF doesn't run UNIX System V release 4 on Intel
hardware. Solaris on Intel is being looked at now, but not vanilla
UNIX System V.
