Netscape 4.5, UW IMAP, and Expunging

I've got Netscape 4.5 running against UW IMAP server. It works pretty
darn well other than expunging messages from mail folders other than the
inbox doesn't work, either by explicitly Compacting Folders or by
exiting Netscape. I have to go into Pine and do it manually.

Is there a trick to making this work? Other than this one thing
everything is peachy... I can see my folders, route messages with inbox
rules, etc.
