Eudora: Eudora.exe - Application Error (title bar)
The instruction at "<hex-addr>" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The
memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

...A little more information. The crash only occurs when the user
has an IMAP mailbox open as the active window in Eudora and then invokes the
Find Messages function. The mailbox selection dialog starts to appear, and
then Eudora crashes. The crash can be avoided by selecting a local mailbox
(e.g. In), or--in general--so long as an IMAP mailbox window is not the active
window when Ctrl+F (or Edit->Find->Find Messages) is invoked.

Using what IMAP server?
What versions of Windows, at home vs. office?

Try deleting the "Search" subfolder, too.

Some problems (though I don't know about this one) are improved by:
<X-Eudora-Option:IMAPIgnoreUIDPLUS=1>
Click on this in a Eudora message, while holding [Alt] on keyboard.
It might be worthwhile to compare results with version 6.2.5.6 or 6.2.3.4,
still available from http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/2350hq.html
(7.1 is available from http://www.eudora.com/download/ )
Although you can install programs versions over one another,
you could also install them to new, separate program directories,
then start Eudora by dragging your current mail folder
to the Eudora.exe program for any version.

No joy.

No real help there. The problem appears isolated to this one user.
No one else has ever complained about this problem and I can't replicate it.
Eudora's IMAP cache has been resychronized, and even that doesn't help.

So it must be "user error" :)
Does "can't replicate" mean that you have set up your own independent
instance of Eudora, to successfully access and search that one user's mail,
and thus eliminated the possibility that the user's mail storage,
on the IMAP server itself, is where the problem lies?
Since IMAP involves mail kept on a remote server,
you could try starting anew, with an initially empty folder
as Eudora's mail "data" folder, using nothing from the previous setup.
