Is this your copy or your friend's?
At any rate, there's someone in the mailing list who seems to blame
Avast, don't know what version, for messing up her Spamnix, though she
hasn't made her case very well. I wonder

There was no point in Adding to Trusted the ones with the tongues,
because they were already trusted.

Nonetheless, I thought you'd gotten past the certificate problem and
moved on to some other problem but you never posted about another
problem.
Certificate problems seem to take many tries to fix, the first time,
but they can be fixed. What is the error message you get.
BTW, if you reinstalled Eudora, that would have putin the original
QCSSL.dll back in, and that would make the first attempt to get mail
take a lonngggg time, and likely time out, but I thought the second
attempt would not be affected. ?? Eventually, soon, the patched
version of the dll file should be put back in, following a reinstall.
