Hi, I need to install Eudora 7.1 but on the new laptop with Windows 10
but it is impossible.
I get this panel. I attach a photo:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/373nkeepzxqrq1w/Cattura%20Eudora.JPG?dl=0
I put the "Change Account Control Settings" slider all the way down
(so it's disabled) but I always get the same problem. Unable to
install Eudora.
Is there a possibility to be able to do this?
Thank you for some info.

Execution blocked by administrator. Apparently you don't have
administrator rights when you try to install it. Right-click
on the .exe file and choose "Run as administrator" ("Esseguire
come amministatore", I guess).

And after installation, set Eudora as the default mail program
*via the control panel*.

And next time use Google Translate to translate Italian text
into English before asking questions.

It doesn't work even if I try ti install it as Administrator

Eudora is already the default mail client.

You are right, I'm sorry.
On the panel I read:
The App has been blocked for security purposes .
Running the App. blocked by the Administrator.
For more information contact the Administrator.

I have just created a new Administrator Account and I used it to
install Eudora. But I get the same problem.

I created a new Administrator account, but it is impossible to install
Eudora.

I believe it is time to abandon Eudora for a newer program. What a
pity!

I used Pandora a long time ago. I hate whoever created Pandora.
In fact, I bought it but I couldn't use it due to a problem. I wrote
to the creator and he told me that with the new version of Pandora my
problem was solved. But I had to buy the next version again.
It seems to me not honest.
Do you know if even today you pay for all subsequent versions?

Out of curiosity: does Pandora work well now? I would like a final
version that works well. Are you satisfied with Pandora?

My blind friend's husband (also blind) is running Eudora - not Pandora -
fine under Windows 10; I don't know if he installed it under 10, or just
let his machine upgrade from 7 to 10 (I know he did that) and Eudora
continued to work.

inglese... Anche quelle delle immagini.
Devi lanciare l'installer come "amministratore".

Fai prima a lanciare winmerd 10 piuttosto.

I installed Eudora maybe 2 years ago on my new pc with Win10 pre-installed.
Under the special and only account that has administrator rights. Didn't
run into any problem. All other users on my pc have limited rights only.
That, plus the fact that I consider mailer, browser, etc. profiles to be
*user* data that don't belong on the system partition, was reason to copy
the Eudora profile to the resp. user sections on a non-system partition.
Works like a charm for all of them.

Ultima soluzione, fai come me: Eudora funziona benissimo anche

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rhib1j73aimwet0/CatturaEUDORA.JPG?dl=0
Eudora. Que problema sparisce.
In vari anni mi è successo 2-3 volte.

I have copied / pasted all of Eudora to another laptop. All emails
work fine but not yahoo.com
On the main PC I had deleted the yahoo account with Thunderbird and
then I had created it again.
All this is strange because on the main PC the account with yahoo.com
works fine, but not on the second computer.
Why? Yet in the second computer Eudora is perfectly the same as the
main PC. How can I solve the problem?
Thank you

Have you tried right clicking on the installation file and selecting "run as administrator"?

I solved that problem installng Eudora with Revo Unistaller.

Well I'm glad you fixed it, but it's still strange that it wouldn't install for you normally.
There's no fundamental problem installing and using Eudora on Windows 10, I am and I know many others are too.
Are you logged on to Windows 10 as an administrator?
That's the only other thing I can think of which might have caused the error message you were getting, your user account didn't have the necessary rights.

Yes of course, I tried as Administrator, both by creating a new
administrator account and by trying to install it with the right mouse
button on the file as administrator. But both options are unmanaged.
Eudora is strange.
Another thing I can't solve is that on the second computer Eudora
doesn't download emails with yahoo.com account.
On the first computer it downloads them fine but on the second
computer it has problems with the server: SERVER ERROR ..
YET I have copied all Eudora folders and respective files from the
first computer to the second computer. But I get this problem.

Have both installations of Eudora got the Hermes update applied?
In my experience, Yahoo servers will no longer connect with Eudora without it.

Maybe yes, but I dont remmeber well if I installed the latest Hermes
version.
Could you confirm if I have to download from it please?

EDIT:
now I have just copied the 3 .dll files in Eudora folder from
HermSSL folder.
Then I installed vcredist.exe.
But I get the same problem.
Maybe had I to unnistall first the old HermSSL?

Where can I find it please?

Since you told me this, I made 2 tests:
1 ° I coped rootcerts inside Eudora foder, then I opened Eudora but I
get the same problem.
2nd I coped the 4 files: 3 dll files again and rootcerts file inside
Eudora foder. Then I installed vcredist.exe again but I got the same
problem.
Eudora doesn't download emal from yahoo account.

OK, you can check that the Hermes patch is working by doing a mail check and then looking in the properties for your Eudora personality.
If you click on "last SSL info" it should show that it attempted a connection using TLSv1.2.
If it still says TLSv1 the Hermes patch isn't doing its job.
The only thing left is that you may well need to generate an "application specific password" for that installation.
Did you do that for the other computer that's working?
You need to go to the Yahoo webmail page with your browser, log in and look at your settings, and look in the security section.
In there, there should be an option to generate a password for what they consider now to be an insecure client.
When you've got the password (it will be four blocks of four numbers) you will need to use it in Eudora instead of your normal password.

Later I will change the password as you suggested. But I will change
the password even on the other main computer where yahoo works fine.
I hope I will not ruini something on Eudora running well.
Anyway I thank you!

The trick to installing Eudora on Win10 is, to put it into its own folder in the root directory instead of program files. C:\\Eudora
Run setup as administrator.
Win10 will want to put email files and attachments in its user directories, so you have to find them and move them to the C:\\Eudora folder, and I think you need to edit the eudora.ini file to point to the moved directories.

I do not recall all the details, I found the instructions online but it was a year or two ago.
