Using Eudora 6.2.0.14 Paid O/S is Win XP Pro
Question 1 on Attachments
I'd like to assign attachments to folders based on the sender - everything
from daughter "A" for instance I'd like to send to "Grandson" Folder as it
arrives rather than doing a manual TRANSFER from the Attachments Folder to
Grandson Folder. Don't see how to do that and maybe there is no way.
Question 2 on Queued Send
Lately I'm seeing quite a few outgoing messages end up for Queued or Delayed
Send - I have Immediate Send checked in the SENDING MAIL Options but in
spite of that some outbound message get tagged for delayed send - I don't
know why.

There is no way to have Eudora do it. (The Mac version lets attachments be
in different locations, the Windows version doesn't.) You can use the
"notify application" action in a filter to call up another
program/script/batch file to copy or move attached files, but if you move
them elsewhere Eudora isn't going to know how to access them from within
the message. It can't do that if you move them manually either though, so
maybe that doesn't matter to you.

When you say that, do you mean they are simply left queued or do you
mean they're queued to be sent after a specific time? If the former, are
you sure that Eudora isn't trying to send them and failing, leaving
them queued? What happens if you manually tell Eudora to send mail? Do
those messages get sent then? Do you have more than one personality? If
so, could the problem be that one or more personalities doesn't have the
option to send immediately turned on? Generally, that setting is global,
but it is possible to change that by putting the appropriate setting in
eudora.ini for one or more specific personalities.

Thanks for the replies and I'm sorry I repeated the attachment query - I
noticed the same question posted recently by another user. And I even got
the same answer - basically it can't be done in the Win version
Regarding the queued sends -- it almost seems random but if there's a common
element - it may be when I hesitate on send - hold the mouse button down an
instant too long. But basically I consider it a random occurrence. The
message shows up in the OUT box with a clock face and at that point I bring
up the message, right click and click IMMEDIATE SEND.
I didn't see within personality properties any way to specify immediate or
delayed send - only via context menu from the message itself. And most
messages, 95% go normally, immediately when I hit SEND.
I have some other glitchy issues - maybe a consequence of some too-large
mailboxes - several need a good paring down.
I'll try to observe my queued send instances more carefully and see if
there's something common to all of them.

That's definitely a timed queue then, not just a message staying queued
because of a problem with actually sending it. Is it possible that you're
accidentally holding the shift key while clicking on the "send" button?
That brings up a dialog box that allows you to choose to send/queue/queue
for a specific time. I'd think you'd notice that dialog box even if you're
also accidentally clicking again to get out of it, but I can't think of
any other way you could be telling Eudora to queue messages that way.

You have to edit eudora.ini to set it that way.

The only ones that matter to Eudora are the system mailboxes. Is Out one
of the ones that is too large? If so, how large is it? Letting it get too
large can result in its toc file getting corrupted, which certainly could
give you the results you're seeing.
