New Eudora error message

Hello Dave,
I have followed your instructions but, unfortunately, it does not seem to have fixed my problem. I am now getting the following error message: "<Dominant>, Connecting to the Mail Server ..., EHLO 'My Name'-PC.bellnet.ca (time) Error reading from network Cause: closed by foreign host (0)", and I am not able to send any e-mail messages. Also, when I look in the current Eudora.ini file, I can see that it still says: "SSLReceiveUse=0" and "SSLSendUse=0", and when I click on the "Last SSL Info" tab it generates the following status message: "You have never done any SSL negotiation with any personality since the last time you started Eudora." Any suggestions you have would be welcome.

Do you have the Hermes update installed to enable TLS 1.2 level communication with the mail servers?

Many e-mail providers have now dropped support for TLS v1 which is the only level Eudora supports natively.

From where (link-?) would you suggest I obtain the most recent Hermes update installer? Thanks

When you have it, unzip the files to a folder. Assuming you're on Windows, go to the unzipped "HermSSL" folder, and run the vcredist.exe file. This will install some Microsoft software which is needed by the updated files. If you get a message saying it's already installed, don't worry, just dismiss it. Then copy the following files from the "HermSSL" folder to your Eudora program folder (with Eudora closed of course!)
libeay32.dll, QCSSL.dll, rootcerts.p7b, and ssleay32.dll. Overwrite the original files (back them up first if you want to be completely safe in case anything goes wrong.) That's it, Eudora should now work exactly as before, but will do TLS v1.2 connections.
