Gentlemen and Fair Ladies,

I have downloaded and installed Eudora 4.3.2 (paid version) and am not able to
find a spell check icon on the toolbar. I do not wish to use the automatic
spell checker, which, by the way, works alright.

The help menu states,

"To check the spelling of a current composition window, text file, or
signature file, click the Check Spelling button in the main window toolbar or
choose Check Spelling from the Edit menu (Ctrl+6). If there are no
misspellings, the “No misspellings found” alert appears."

I can get to the spell checker by way of the Edit menu but can find no " Check
Spelling button in the main window toolbar."

Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

God Bless!

Norm

Put one there by right clicking on the toolbar. Choose
customize. Find the spell check icon in General - Edit and drag it to the
bar.

Many thanks, Ajo. The icons that are dragged up to the tool bar are much
larger than all of the others and do not line up nicely. Surely, this cannot
be what was intended. Any ideas?

God Bless!

Toolbar buttons should all be the same size. Have you re-started Eudora
since you changed the toolbar? If not, try that. You can choose between
small and large icons at Tools | options | display | show large buttons.
Perhaps toggling that back and forth would correct your problem. Problems
with toolbar buttons looking bad or disappearing can often be fixed by
updating your video drivers, so that might be worth a try to.

Thanks, Katrina,

Using the Tools | options | display | show large buttons, does not effect the
icons that have been dragged up there; either their position or their size.

I have tried toggling and restarting Eudora with no change in performance
characteristics.

Updating drivers is over my computer nummy head. Do you have the time or
patience to lead me by the hand?

Even if not, many thanks.

God Bless!

I'm afraid that you will have to live with it. The icons are not all
exactly the same size. For example open next and open previous message are
much smaller than the spell check and attach file. But don't they all line
up along the centre of the tool bar? They do in my Eudora, except "new
message".

Based on a private message that Norm sent to me, I conclude that what he
probably did was actually create a new toolbar next to the standard one,
rather than adding a new button to the existing toolbar. Toolbars that
aren't docked are a bit wider and higher than those that are docked and
they definitely don't line up properly.
