I had obtained the QCSSL patch a few years ago and everything went fine. Recently Eudora has started to "act up" again -- rejecting SSL certificates and also not making an SSL connection on launch (but working OK after that). I have seen a lot of posts on the certificate issue -- you just have to keep accepting them manually whenever they change -- but is there some new issue with the initial connection? I've made sure my copy of QCSSL.DLL is identical with the patched version. (Running Eudora 7.1.0.9, Windows 7 Professional)
