Every once in awhile (maybe once a week) the following pops up as a separate
window (labeled "Eudora Update") in my Eudora v7.1.0.9 (paid, on a Lenova
laptop).

Anyone know what it's all about?

It appears to be the built-in update thing. There are no more updates
to be expected so you might as well turn it off with this setting:

<X-Eudora-Option:DontShowUpdates=1>
