this one is driving me crazy. I have been using Eudora 4.2 for over a
year, no problems at all. I upgrade to 4.3, and suddenly I can't send
any email messages out. I am getting the following error message:
! <dominant>, Connecting to the Mail Server...,EHLO k6400.usa.com
[12:44:50]
Can't find a supported authentication mechanism for sending messages,
and you've specified to require authentication
I have selected and deselected "check authentication", it doesn't do
anything to resolve this problem. Has anyone else had this problem,
and what was the solution?
I noticed it is stating "EHLO k6400.usa.com". k6400 is my local
machine name, should it be placing that in the EHLO command? If not,
where can I change this at?
Thanks for your help,

two options in the eudora.ini file:
[Settings]
SMTPAuthAllowed=1
SMTPAuthRequired=0
I have always had SMTPAuthRequired = 1 in the INI file in 4.2, as
stated in tech support on Eudora's website. Some reason that will not
work in eudora pro 4.3. I had to change SMTPAuthRequired=1 to
SMTPAuthRequired=0
Now things work perfectly!
I kept SMTPAuthAllowed = 1 the same as in Eudora Pro 4.2
