Hi, I have just created a new gmail.com account.
I have even other gmail.com accounts and all work fine with Eudora
7.1, but the new account doesn't work.
I don't know the reason, also because it is configured like the other
gmail accounts.
I also ran the security check.
I enabled POP but I get ERROR with Eudora.
I use Eudora with HermSSL installed
I attach you 3 pics:

This email address is important for me.
I thank you for your info.

I can't read other than the first image, but that one is pretty clear. Can you verify the user name and password on the gmail account is entered correctly? That's what the error message is saying.

I had a problem with a new hosting provider where Eudora reported something obtuse. Turned out it was a typo in the password or user name, I forget which.

I'm sorry for it. I see those links well. They are OK.

Yes, the Eudora message is clear but, it doesn't work.
I went to the web, logged out the account and then logged back in, and
everything works fine on the web.

Funny thing is that this fix is also the solution for the problem for
sending emails on MS Outlook as well..

Hey friends,
I have also another problema with yahoo.com.
I have 3 accounts with yahoo.com and the worked fine with Eudora.
2 days ago Eudora have stopped working with yhaoo.com and it is
impossible to download mails. Whenever I try to download mail, Eudora
asks me for my password, but it doesn't download anything. It is very
strange. I also logged into my account web and everything looks OK,
even if I haven't seen any options to be able to configure my account
like it happens with gmail.com.
Anyone know why this problem?
Anyone use yahoo.com?
Thank you.

Maybe yahoo have started to require the same "enhanced security" that
gmail prefer; if so, if you're lucky, there will be a setting _in their
webmail interface_ you can change to allow it - if you're not, you'll
need to add something to Eudora.

If this was already the situation, check that setting: there's some
evidence that gmail change that setting back sometimes, so maybe yahoo
do too.

I don't see any option on yahoo website. In your opinion have I delete
my accounts?

Good news, thank you.
Can I ask a stupid question? Isn't it easier to set up Eudora with
IMAP instead of POP3?
Maybe it can't be done?

I like to understand better.
Do I habve to remove my account only on Thunderbird? Therefore I have
to leave my account on yahoo web page. OK?

I tried to deleted the account and the I tried to create it again with
Thunderbird. If I cose POP3, Thunderbird was not able to crate that
account again, but when I chose IMAP, it was created in some seconds.
What can I do with Eudora, please?

I don't think TB has an _automatic_ way of _looking up_ server details;
however, it has the details for many common ISPs built into it. (These
of course go out of date; if you use an older version of TB and the ISP
has changed their server details - names _or_ protocols - you'll have to
set them up manually and _not_ accept what it suggests.)

Yes, I have Eudora 7.1 and I have to option to configure it with IMAP,
but I don't know how I can configure it.
If Thunderbid is able to download yahoo emails, do you think even
Eudora 7.1 is able to download yahoo emails?

I'm sorry but I use ONLY Eudora 7.1.
I think I have to abandon POP3 end I have to use yahoo.com with IMAP.
Does anybody know how can I configure Eudora wirh yahoo and IMAP?

I don't know how to thank you for your kindness and availability.
Unfortunately I did not understand well because in addition to being
inexperienced, my English is not good.
But now I understand everything and have solved my problems.
One last question: since the passords that yahoo created for me are
strange, could I replace them with other personal passwords?
THANK YOU!

No, the application specific passwords generated by Yahoo are exactly that, and cannot be changed.

I believe that since June 2020, Google's G Suite no longer permits
"less secure" apps to download email.

Are there any plans to apply this at some time to ordinary Gmail?
