comp.mail.eudora.mac and comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows are unmoderated
newsgroups for discussion of the email client Eudora on the two platforms.
(There is also comp.mail.misc and there are a number of other
client-specific newsgroups under comp.mail.*.)

For those not familiar with the program, Eudora is a dedicated email client
sold by Qualcomm (although there is always a free version available). It
doesn't do anything else, it just does email--but it does that one thing
very well. Eudora is highly configurable, and currently available in one
version with three "modes": Light (which is free but has fewer features),
Sponsored (full-featured but you have to accept ads in a small window which
can be moved out of the way but can't be covered), and Paid (full-featured
with no ads after you pay the registration fee). Older versions of Eudora
Light are also available for those with older systems which cannot run the
current version.

These are medium traffic, low spam groups where you can post questions about
using Eudora. Almost all questions are answered; it's very rare that
someone comes to the group for help and doesn't find it, although
occasionally none of us is able to come up with a fix or work-around. We do
occasionally have someone come in and ask for help with Eudora for the other
platform, and they'll be referred to the other comp.mail.eudora.* group. I
don't have Windows, so I don't normally read that group, but I did lurk
briefly in the group before writing this, and it seems to be similar in tone
and high quality of help to the Mac-specific group.

If you use Eudora or if you're thinking of switching to Eudora, I really
recommend subscribing to the comp.mail.eudora.* group for your platform.
Even if you aren't having any problems, you'll learn a lot about additional
capabilities of the program through reading other people's questions and the
answers they get. Eudora comes with a detailed manual in PDF form which
will answer most questions so occasionally a question will get an "RTFM"
response, but usually they'll also get the answer without having to RTFM.

If you post in the group for help, you are expected to check back in the
group for answers. (If your news server is having problems and you really
need email copies, be sure and mention that, because most of us--at least in
the Mac group--are not in the habit of sending email replies or copies.)
Also, it helps us to help you if you tell us what OS you're using and which
version of Eudora.

In article <1f3qbr8.a6haoa1obvv5sN%kmo...@aptalaska.net>, kmo...@aptalaska.net says...

Possible Additions:
1. These NewsGroups are not officially monitored by Qualcomm. They
are basically users helping users. However, when New or Beta
Releases of the Eudora are issued, someone from Qualcomm
will usually post the notifications. Sometimes a Qualcomm
representative will respond to questions during a Beta Phase,
however since these are not Company Sponsored Forums, please
take note. The preferred means of contacting Qualcomm are:

Windows:
Bugs
mailto:win-eud...@qualcomm.com
Suggestions
mailto:eudora-...@qualcomm.com

Mac:

2. Blurb about Eudora's mailbox structure meets Internet Standards and
are currently not as susceptible to E-Mail Viruses compared to
other programs which are targeted.

3. Eudora also sponsors a free web-based e-mail system, which not only
gives you a free account, but lets you check your other POP accounts
while you are away from your main machine (leaving mail on the server
so you can download it with your regular e-mail program upon return,
or deleting mail from server at your option).
